Cetinje is a town with a fascinating history and was once the royal capital of Montenegro, where all the state powers were concentrated. Today, it is one of the tourism landamrks of the country where the visitors can see several museums and embassies that today are historic monuments, the Cetinje monastery, where the religious centre of the country is located and several other monasteries. Cetinje is a small but vibrating town, where all the Montenegrin art academies are located. There is a large number of small cafes in the small streets where you can enjoy your coffee and meet the friendly inhabitants of Cetinje. Three great relics of the Christian world are located in Cetinje - the hand of John the Baptist, the particle of the Holy Cross and the miraculous icon of The Virgin Filermosa.

You will arrive in Cetinje and make a sightseeing tour of this old town that once was the core of the Montenegrin state. Several monuments are located in this town. You will visit Cetinje monastery, where the holy relics - hand of John the Baptist, with which he baptized Jesus Christ and a particle of the Holy Cross, are preserved. On the hill above the monastery is the mausoleum of Vladika Danilo, one of the members of the Petrovic dynasty that ruled Montenegro for three centuries.

In the centre you can have a stroll down the Njegoseva and Bajova Streets.
You will also visit Biljarda, former residence of the most famous Montenegrin - Petar Petrovic Njegos. In this residence, now a museum, you will hear the fascinating story of this genius who ruled Montenegro, wrote the most important literary pieces in the Balkans and was the religious leader of Montenegro. You will also see several palaces that once were the embassies of the foreign states and now are interesting architectural and historical monuments. Cetinje is also famous for the precious icon of the Virgin Filermosa, which has a fascinating history, because it changed owners on different continents several times. It has been stolen, moved and smuggled and lots of mysterious events surround this relic which not only has religious significance but is also a very valuable item in material terms.

Visit to King Nikola`s Palace and the Vladin Dom (ex government palace) and several other sites in Cetinje are important for understanding the history of Montenegro.

The tour continues with a short drive from Cetinje to the mountain Lovcen. Visit to the mountain Lovcen and the mausoleum are also part of this tour.
