Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

The manager/owner of the hotel Mr. Gani Resulbegovic and his family have been in position of Dvori Balsica for many decades. Mr. Resulbegovic has many times tempted to choose between commercial and the preservation side of this project, but all the choices he has made during opening and functioning of this hotel were in favour of never interrupting the natural and cultural environment of the Old Town Ulcinj. Walking the old, narrow streets of Old Ulcinj you do not even realize that the biggest building in the town is the hotel. Travellers really enjoy the fact that they spend their vacations in the place that has as they say "character" and tradition. Resulbegovics' priority is keeping this gem of architecture in perfect state and passing it to the new generations well preserved. All innovations have been done in accordance with local authorities advises and the advices of architects that help to make the good combination of hotel comfort and preservation of cultural and historic site.

The hotel is located in the palace of the royal family Balsic that ruled medieval feudal state Zeta, that covered the territory of the part of today`s Montenegrin state. None of the main characteristics of this old building complex and environment was devastated during this project.
